Code of Conduct for Parents

As a Parent of a Red Rose Olympic rider I will:

  • Recognise the value and importance of the coaches and volunteers who provide sporting/recreational opportunities for my child

  • Respect the referees, commissaires, coaches, organisers and other cyclists at all events and deal with any complaints via the proper channels

  • Recognise good performance, not just results and be supportive no matter what!

  • Encourage mutual respect for team mates and fellow competitors

  • Support all efforts to remove abusive/bullying behaviour in all its forms

  • Never intentionally expose any young participant to embarrassment or disparagement by the use of flippant or sarcastic remarks

  • Accept the officials’ judgements and teach children to do likewise

  • Encourage my child to take responsibility for their bike and kit

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, disability, cultural background or religion
