North West Youth League Round 4: MTB

Start time for the race will be 10:00am with sign on opening around 9:00am.

North West Youth League 2017

Calling all Red Rose Youth Riders!

This season we will be attending the North West Youth League events. This a series of races throughout the North West that covers four different disciplines: - Road, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike and Cycle Speedway.

There is no need to complete all the events, riders can pick and choose which they fancy - but we are aiming to be at them all.

Jez and Mike will be there to offer help and support - lets go and have some fun!

MTB Session Cancelled

Sadly we have had to cancel the planned session for the 18th March

We will back in touch soon about running mid week MTB skills sessions and we will also look to do a ride out soon at some local trails

In the mean time practise those flat pedal skills!

We will be working on front and rear wheel lifts, step ups, drop offs and more.

We will be asking for a small coaching contribution to our coaching coffers £2 per head please.

There is no coaching this week due to another event on at the UCLAN arena, so we are having an informal ride around the Guild Wheel.

Meet in the car park at UCLAN arena ready for setting off at 9:00am.

MTB is Here!

Last weekend saw us out on our MTBs on Saturday and on Sunday!

On Saturday morning we had an MTB specific coaching session and we worked on balance, cornering, track standing and front wheel lifts. There was a mix of ages and abilities but every rider was challenged to develop their skills. Thanks to Jack and Jez for delivering the session.

We are going to be running similar sessions during March so keep an eye out for news.

On Sunday we put our skills to the test around the Red and Blue routes at Gisburn with eight riders braving the elements.

 

MTB is coming!

Have a look in the events section to see the upcoming MTB events we have coming up.

We are hoping to run regular coaching sessions on Saturday mornings before our road sessions start.

The sessions will be based on building skills and confidence whilst having fun and getting a work out at the same time.
