Rossendale 2016 Cyclocross race photos

Rossendale RC hosted their cyclocross event at the Landgate Quarry, renowned for its challenging course with a tough steep run up, boggy dips, a super fast descent with those scary (for me anyway) drop offs and long steep off-camber section for good measure!

The day started with the hillside in thick fog - we could hardly make out the course, if you know what you are looking for you can probably pick out the pits on the photo below - but the sun was shining by the time the first race started and we were treated to a fabulous sunny day in the Lancashire hills.

Red Rose has riders in the U12, youth, vet and women's races with a second place in the Under 12 girl's race and top 10 finishers in the Under 12 boy's and Under 14 boy's races.

Early Fog

Thanks to the cheerful volunteers who gave us a friendly welcome at sign on and the various marshalls around the course.

The results and more photos are available on the NWCCA results page and the Red Rose riders are now looking forward to round 3.
