The venue is less than an hour and a half from Preston. The race times and categories are slightly different to what we are used to in the North West league so check out the details on the British Cycling event page.

Fairly easy skills session today since some have a race on Sunday. We will focus on the skills required for the next NWCCA race - the Stadt Moers course has some very muddy sections and some fast paths.

For this week either a mountain bike or cyclocross bike will be fine.

Meet at 9am at Cottam Community Centre.

Heaton Park and Bebington Oval Cyclocross race reports

Red Rose Olympic Vets and Women on the start line at Heaton Park Cyclocross, Manchester

We had a great turnout for a great race at Heaton Park. The youth riders rode in the rain which gradually cleared and by the time of the vets/womens race it could be described as a nice day - Pete, who was unfit to race, was marshalling and shouted encouragement to the Red Rose riders while eating his sandwiches.

We're well into the cyclocross season, but there's still a good few races left. We'll focus on skills specific for the upcoming races.

Meet at 6pm at UCLAN - the car park on the right as you enter the sports arena.

Cyclo-Cross Race, Penrith

There are no races in NWCCA league this weekend so what about a trip up to Penrith to get your cyclocross fix? It's at the Greystoke Estate which is about 10 minutes from junction 40 of the M6.

The race is promoted by the Beacon Wheelers as part of the CXNE league.

The day has a slightly different format to what we are used to with the NWCCA so check out the race times to make sure you are there in time!
