Cyclocross fun in Moor Park

Red Rose Olympic have been welcoming riders in all age categories from under 8 to youth to veteran to Moor Park in Preston to our Saturday morning cyclocross sessions.

Some riders are new to cyclocross and learn some basic skills from cornering to riding with no hands. The more advanced riders develop their technique of trickier skills like moving mounts and dismounts to bunny hopping the boards.

Red Rose at the Dolans

Red Rose Olympic riders have been at the Dolan Series 2019, run over three weekends at Southport, with each rider doing two races on each day. The first race on the day is the long race which tends to be more tactical and is followed by a short race which tends to be an all out hectic, full gas sprint! The riders all had to put into practice their  skills and hone their race craft, all while at the limit.

Summer Cycling 2019

Red Rose Olympic are getting geared up for a summer of cycling!

Our coaching sessions at UCLAN Sport Arena start this coming weekend. These sessions are aimed at riders of all ages and are great for riders looking to get more confident riding a bike and learn some basic skills to people looking to race or who are already racing regularly. Each week we coach a different skill at the beginning of the session and build it into exercises and games later in the session.

Hoghton Tower Cyclocross Race report

Despite the rain - and there was a lot of rain - there was a great turnout and high spirits at the first race of the 2018 NWCCA season. The Red Rose team put on a great event with a challenging course in a fabulous setting.

Thanks to all the volunteers that helped out setting up the day before, marshalling on the day and tidying up afterwards.

Results are available from the NWCCA.

Everton Park Summer Cross Report

Red Rose Olympic had a great day of racing at Everton Park. It was quite a different experience racing in the sun and heat after the rain, hail and snow of the last cyclo-cross winter season.

Red Rose had riders in every race. Pheobe won the U10 girls race and Dan was in the youth race and had a great race despite a mechanical on the start line which delayed him getting away.

There was a great atmosphere, with local police on bikes having a go round the course and representatives of the Friends of Everton Park there too.
