Races for Under 8 to Under 16 Boys and Girls.

This round of the NWYL is a cyclocross event held in the grounds adjacent to the Salt Ayre cycle circuit.

Any roadworthy bike can be used as long as off road tyres are fitted.

The race format will consist of 1 short and 1 long race.

The legendary Cog Set catering crew will be available for drinks, cakes etc.

After the summer of road cycling skill sessions on the track we are moving off-road to cyclocross skills. The sessions are open to riders of all ages and we'll have a couple of groups so we can have advanced riders honing their skills and novice riders learning some important basic skills. We'll be looking at what skills will be needed for the next race - the Horwich Humdinger which has some runups and a tricky off-camber section.

Red Rose Olympic Cycling Club will be delivering the first round of this year’s North West Cyclo-Cross season again at Hoghton Tower, Preston for the 4th year. With help from the guys at Crank It Racing with course design and the scrumptious catering from the venue kitchens it promises to be a day to remember.
